Corset Sizing Explained

A STIINA corset should be worn with the understanding that they will not fold or bend when you sit, they will curve with your body as they are extremely structured and will keep their shape while being worn. These measurements ensure that your piece will fit properly and comfortably. The corsets are made with a one-two inch gap that is meant to be tightened comfortably to its proper fit. There is a lot of adjustability with the overall fit of the corset as well as the straps.

For one-off pieces that are pre-made and in a set size please refer to this size guide.

  • All measurements must be taken with a tailor's tape measure in inches. Measurements are more accurate if taken by someone other than yourself. If you do take your own measurements, do so in the mirror and make sure with all horizontal measurements you are getting the circumference (starting from the center front of the body going all the way around and meeting at the center front again). The measuring tape should be snug--not tight and not loose. Always hold the tape measure at 1 to the starting point of what you are measuring and guide the tape measure across the body with the other hand, holding onto the number that reaches your end point, then writing it down. • Bust: The circumference at the fullest point of the bust-line (nipple to nipple). A bra should not be worn when taking this measurement as you cannot wear a bra under a corset.

Under-bust: The circumference of the area just below the bust (around the ribs).

Waist: The circumference of the smallest part of the torso (not everyone's natural waist is in line with the belly button so don’t go off that). This is also the measurement needed for anything high waisted.

High Hip (mid rise): The circumference just about an inch below the belly button. Also the measurement of where mid rise bottoms would be on your body.

Hip (low-rise): The circumference two to three inches from your natural waist-also the measurement for where low rise bottoms would fit your body.

Low hip: The circumference of the lowest fullest part of the hip going over the top of the buttocks (around the greater trochanter of the femurs).

Cup size: For breast owners cup size is needed (A,B,C,D,etc). For non-breast owners only the chest measurement is needed.

Side: Vertical measurement from the underarm to the natural waistline.

    Height: In feet and inches.
